Had a simmilar problem with VM vers. 5.00.31xx. To find out, which version you are using type C:\>jview on a command prompt. Version 5.00.3805 works fine for me (IE6, Win XP Pro)

Try to update your Microsoft VM from windowsupdate.microsoft.com
